Sendacar is an owner managed, Derby licensed private hire operator.
We are based in Mickleover.
We currently run subcontract projects for a few other PH companies and chase our own Airport Transfers.
The plan is to launch a ‘Sendacar Day to day’ ride request service in and around Mickleover, and initially, this side of Derby.
We feel that some of the larger companies have a stranglehold on the industry and slowly but surely, the race to the bottom has taken hold and spread it’s ugly head across the private hire community.
We feel like a fair payment for a fair job done is important.
We are looking for DERBY licensed drivers, interested in helping us get off the ground. We are looking for drivers who don’t just work on behalf of their operator, they take ownership of the job in hand. They make the job their own.
We are particularly looking for DERBY licensed drivers where every passenger counts and customer service is a priority. We want drivers who will help with passenger requests, drive safely and conform to our ethos of offering polite, friendly, helpful, professional driving professionals.
Look, we’re new and there are some big folks on the scene doing big things out and about in Derby. We can’t promise the world and we won’t.
Everything has to start somewhere, but rest assured, we’re out pushing the foundations of this, forging new relationships, negotiating with key partners and essentially, laying the groundwork for this new project.
We are currently proposing a 3 month trial.
Like all PH operators, if someone wants a ride, the important thing is to say
“Yes, we can do that” . This is why ‘Sendacar day to day’ needs drivers on its books.
The trial will kick off in January 2025.
We want to offer a key difference to other apps/ operators. We want drivers to form relationships with passengers. We want passengers to request particular drivers. We want drivers to become regular transport professionals for everyday travel and more. The app we’ll be using, enables people to see if particular drivers are working and boom, drop them a ride request directly. “Can you pick me up” All above board and fully licensing compliant.
The deal.
Drivers will pay an activation fee to be part of the project. This will be a single payment for the first 3 months. That’s it.
Anything earned via ‘Sendacar day to day’ will be yours. NO COMMISSION to pay, no additional payments.
Now, on top of this, we’ll be pushing pre-booked work through to you and any airports that we can. For clarity, unless its a day to day APP booking, pre paid Airports and any contract work or business to business bookings made outside of the APP WILL have a little slice taken off for administrative and business development reasons. This covers things like bank fees business costs and growth of course.
Other than that, any job we’ll push over to you is completely up to you! We’ll let you know the job value up front and boom. Your choice.
Being APP based, you can work when you want. Alongside other things and if a request pings up, you are in the area and it sounds like something you feel like you wanna do, boom. Just accept.
Lastly.. We’ll not be working with any ‘inner circle’ like rumours about other firms and projects do. The system auto allocates jobs based on its algorithms. This is all to do with distance from pick up and queuing time. All things that are familiar to you if you already work with APPS. Airports will be pre arranged and agreed with you.
*Subcontract opportunities. Sometimes, there may be subcontract opportunities available. These are all down to you and if you want to get involved. Subcontract opportunities do not come under the Sendacar day to day umbrella. There may be additional charges here, typically 10% of the job value but only if this is a route you would like to take. When working on subcontract jobs, you will still represent Sendacar, so be good. Even though you would be booked a little differently. This can all be discussed. To ensure clarity.
It’s that simple.
As with every operator, Sendacar day to day is part of the service industry. If people don’t need a ride, then there’s no work. There is no guarantee of work of any volume. This is a trial project. We’ll evaluate after a set period of time and see where we go!
Unless it’s a subcontract job where the rates will be set by our travel partner, We’ll be working with a set minimum journey of £4.50. So if it’s just down the road. Less than a mile, £4.50 is the minimum. All fees will be laid out for you in advance. We don’t offer surge pricing.
This project will launch around MICKLEOVER. So if you tend to work mainly the other side of Derby, this may not suit you.
We only work with DERBY licensed drivers.
Why? Well we live in and work and operate a Derby based business. Derby drivers have to follow a different set of terms and conditions and any/all revenue, license fees and driver payments go back into the council zones we operate in. We feel that getting a badge from another city, and working here doesn’t contribute to the community. So, for now at least. Derby drivers are our key partners.
Lastly, you would be expected to conform to ALL the license conditions of being a private hire driver and vehicle owner.
Once the 3 months are up, we’ll evaluate it all, and see if it’s something we can develop further!
Any driver who helps with the trial, will be labelled as a founder member of the project and will be a key partner moving forward with benefits and incentives on offer.
